Position Summary
Phoenix Children’s is hiring a full time Registered Nurse for the Main Operating Room. We are looking for someone who works well in a fast-paced operating room setting. In this position you will provide nursing care to patients by assessing, planning, educating, implementing, and evaluating age-appropriate care circulating in the operating room. You will work alongside some of the best surgeons, anesthesiologists, techs, and nurses in the valley. This position does require a minimum of 1-2 years circulating nurse experience, or Periop 101 training, and a passion to work in a Level I trauma hospital surgery unit. What is most unique about this role is the joy that you will have providing care to our pediatric population. Specialty areas include general surgery, neurosurgery, orthopedics/spine, ophthalmology, dental, gynecology, urology, plastics, ENT, cardiothoracic, and transplants. This position works in collaboration with the healthcare team, patient and family to promote patient health through delivery of professional nursing care appropriate to patients age and condition as documented in the nursing and medical plans of care in accordance with evidence-based nursing and patient care practice standards and hospital goals, values and regulatory standards.
Education
- Two year (ADN) degree in nursing, a four year degree (BSN) in nursing, or a Diploma Nursing degree. (Required)
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or currently enrolled in an RN to BSN program. (Preferred)
Certifications
- Current State of Arizona RN license or an RN license from a compact state with multistate privileges or the ability to establish licensure according to Arizona law prior to start date. (Required)
- Current BLS certification for Healthcare Provider from the American Heart Association prior to start date. (Required)
