SSM Health is seeking an experienced and patient-centered Certified Nurse Midwife to join our established OB/GYN practice. This full-time role includes a balance of outpatient clinic care, labor and delivery coverage, and home night call supported by an OB/GYN physician. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to manage deliveries independently with physician backup and will demonstrate strong clinical efficiency as well as exceptional communication skills.

Position Overview

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide outpatient OB/GYN care for approximately 20 patients per day
• Cover labor and delivery during daytime hours
• Perform vaginal deliveries and manage active labor patients
• Take home night call with OB/GYN backup (no more than 1:4)
• Typical call volume includes 1–2 deliveries and triage visits per shift
• Assist with postpartum inpatient rounding (<5 patients most days)
• Participate in roughly 500 deliveries annually across the practice
• New graduates encouraged to apply

Qualifications:

Education:

• Master's degree AND advanced certification

Experience:

• One year nursing experience (OB/GYN preferred)

License and Certifications:

• PA or NP with certification and licensure appropriate for OB/GYN practice
• Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber (APNP) – Wisconsin Department of Safety and Professional Services
• WI Registered Nurse (RN) OR RN Compact State License AND
• Certified Nurse Midwife (CNM) certification – American Midwifery Certification Board (AMCB) AND
• Basic Life Support HealthCare Provider (BLS HCP) – American Heart Association (AHA)
