Shift: Nights, 7:00 pm 7:00 am

The role you'll contribute:

To utilize the nursing process in the direction and administration of the Obstetrical, or Newborn plan of care as appropriate. This performance is in compliance with established structure, standards, process standards and protocols under the supervision of the Nursing Director, Nurse Manager, Clinical Leader or ADON. The Registered Nurse will ensure the delivery of safe and effective patient care as defined by AdventHealth standards of nursing care, and is consistent with the therapies of other disciplines

The value you'll bring to the team:

• Formulates, implements and evaluates an individualized plan of care for each patient, based on identified needs/problems, in collaboration with the patient/significant others. Provides all aspects of therapeutic nursing care, based on established standards. Demonstrates competency in all procedures within the scope of practice, as appropriate to the ages of the patients served: o Neonate o Adolescent o Adult
• Assures the implementation of the prescribed medical regimen, including but not limited to: Administration of all IVs, blood and blood products, in accordance with established nursing standards and protocols. Administration of all medications, in accordance with established nursing standards and protocols, with no more than three (3) variances per year.
• Assures the accurate processing of physicians' orders, including but not limited to: Documentation of all verbal and telephone orders on the Physicians' Order Sheet, indicating the date and time received. Documentation of the accurate processing of physicians' orders with signature, date and time.
• Assures the documentation of the patient's response to nursing plan of care in all areas of the medical record, in compliance with established nursing standards and protocols. Ensures that documentation is concise, legible and completed prior to the end of the shift.

The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:

Minimum qualifications:

• Graduate of school of nursing with a minimum of an Associate of Science degree or diploma
• Current and active State of Florida licensure as a Registered Nurse
• Two (2) years prior NICU experience
• Current Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NPR) required after 90 days

Preferred qualification:

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing
• National Certification in area of practice.
• At least one year experience in an area of Obstetrical/Perinatal Nursing
