It is Southwest Riverside County's only designated Trauma Center and a county-designated Paramedic Base Station. Rancho Springs Hospital also provides the area's only OB/Emergency Department program, which gives expectant mothers 24/7 on-site access to OB/GYN physician coverage. Labor and Delivery Registered Nurses are responsible for providing excellence in patient care, collaborative and comprehensive care based on patient and/or family needs, providing assessments, treatment, and care on assigned units. Performs initial assessment appropriate to the patient's clinical presentation/diagnosis, care setting, age development level, psychosocial, cultural, and religious orientation and completes documentation per unit standards, including pain assessment and reassessment. Demonstrates accountability for ongoing awareness for the status of assigned patients. Collects and documents data appropriate to the patient's condition. Nurses will also practice in accordance with all regulatory, professional, legal and hospital policies as well as consistently demonstrate behaviors that model the Southwest Healthcare Rancho Springs and Inland Valley Hospitals' Core Values and the hospitals mission statement.

One year experience as a Registered Nurse in Labor/Delivery and Nursery

One year experience as a Registered Nurse in Post Partum, preferred.

REQUIRED LICENSURE / CERTIFICATIONS

California RN license.

AWHONN Fetal Monitoring. Successful completion of course every two years.

1. AWHONN Basic Fetal Monitoring class within New to Specialty training program.
2. AWHONN Intermediate or Advanced Fetal Monitoring class within 9 months of hire into a New to Specialty training program)

NRP Successful completion of course of the AAP and AHA.
