Advanced Practice Registered Nurses / Physician Assistants
ChristianaCare is looking for a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our Pediatric Hospitalist team! The selected candidate will provide safe and efficient clinical management to newborn, pediatric, adolescent, and young adult patients in the inpatient setting in collaboration with the Christiana Pediatric Hospitalist group. This includes daily rounds, performing complex admissions and discharges, as well as consults as needed.
CLINICAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Perform daily rounds and assess health status of assigned patients timely through complete physical examination and medical history.
Analyze patient data and formulate an individualize plan of care based on patient assessment and needs in collaboration with the physician, nursing, and other members of the disciplinary team.
Evaluate and monitor the effectiveness of prescribed management plan.
Establish priorities based on patient needs and act on these accordingly.
Order and interpret necessary diagnostic testing, therapeutic modalities, or procedures.
Adheres to organization guidelines regarding medical documentation in the electronic health record (EHR), which includes history and physical (H&P), consults, progress notes, orders, regulatory requirements, and message center.
Submit billing in a timely fashion according to policy.
Utilize teaching/learning principles coupled with an expert clinical knowledge to promote and provide education and counseling to the patient and/or family that is understandable to them including teachback.
Act as a liaison for patients, families, and other health professionals including PCP.
Coordinate transitions of care to home; identify any post-discharge needs and set up appropriate follow up in outpatient setting, i.e. bilirubin, PCP.
Contribute to the development and maintenance of best practice guidelines, quality and performance improvement protocols, policies, algorithms and research.
Provide excellent customer service and assist in efforts to improve patient satisfaction scores.

Learns and uses new information, skills and knowledge.
Maintains privileges, mandatory education, and regulatory requirements as needed for area of specialization.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
Completion of a master's degree program as an Acute Pediatric NP or completion of a Physician Assistant program as a Physician Assistant.
Pediatric experience preferred.
License or license eligible in the State of Delaware
BLS, PALS, and NRP certifications are required
