Choptank Community Health System-Advance Education in Pediatric Dentistry invites applications for a full-time position as staff Pediatric Dentist and NYU Langone Pediatric Dental Residency Program Director.
Choptank Health System, Inc. (CCHS) is a private, non-profit community health center providing primary health care services on the Eastern Shore of Maryland in Caroline, Dorchester, and Talbot Counties and the surrounding areas. CCHS dental sites are equipped with the state-of-the art dental equipment including digital x-rays, intra-oral cameras, Cone-Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT), and Nitrous oxide sedation. We also conduct a hospital based Operating Room program in collaboration with a local hospital to provide comprehensive dental treatment to children under general anesthesia.
Our Joint Commission Accredited system includes six medical and five dental offices, staffed by over forty medical and dental providers. Choptank Community Health has been providing oral health, primary health services, behavioral health, school-based wellness, and migrant health programs to our communities since 1980. We offer our patients a full range of general dentistry and specialty care including pediatric dentistry, endodontics, periodontics, prosthodontics, emergency care, and pediatric dental surgery. We are CODA approved and affiliated with the AEGD Program at NYU/ Lutheran Medical Center and regularly have two residents in yearly rotations. We are also a learning institution and have affiliations with the Arizona School of Dentistry and Oral Health (ASDOH) and the University of Maryland Dental School and have Dental students rotating and training yearly at our dental sites. We also have agreements with the local Community College enabling Dental Assistant students to rotate through our sites to get hands-on experience treating patients. Join Choptank Community Health’s dedicated, service-oriented team and work alongside our experienced support staff providing services to a very full and dynamic range of patients. We are looking for a full time licensed Pediatric Dentist to serve a dual role as a practicing Pediatric Dentist and will also oversee all aspects of CCHS’s Pediatric Dental Residency Program. The individual in this role will work five (5) days per week or an extended-hours schedule and will rotate between our established dental centers located in Goldsboro, Federalsburg, Cambridge, and Denton. This position requires rotational phone only call schedule.
The CCHS Pediatric Dental Residency Director contributes to the successful achievement of the Choptank Community Health System (CCHS) mission and strategic initiatives by providing establishment, leadership, oversight, evaluation, and direction for the CCHS Pediatric Dental Residency program as well as CCHS staff Dental providers as needed. Works in a dyad leadership role with the Chief Dental Officer (CDO) and the Associate dental Clinical Director and Lead of the CCHS AEGD Program.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Partners with the CDO and CCHS Associate Dental Clinical Director to ensure that services are provided to patients in conformity with clinic protocols and the code of ethics of the Maryland Board of Dentistry and all NYU/Langone residency program requirements. Ensures compliance with federal, state, and local standards and contributes to the efficiency of health center operations. And, because we are a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC), Choptank’s Dentists are eligible scholar site or for loan repayment through the National Health Service Corps (NHSC).
