Charge Nurse Mother Baby Nights

JOB SUMMARY

Our Mother Baby RNs are focused on providing comprehensive care to mothers and their newborns after the delivery.  Our Mother Baby RNs continuously monitor the health of mothers and their babies and provide baby care and lactation support, education and guidance.  Combined with their knowledge and understanding of patient safety, postpartum care procedures and prenatal and postnatal care, our Mother Baby RNs are adept at monitoring the condition of the mother-baby couplet and establishing solid communications between the mother and her medical care staff. 
 
Ideal Mother Baby RN candidates will be knowledgeable of postpartum and couplet care procedures, understand labor and delivery practices and have excellent problem solving and communications skills. The Charge RN will be part of the leadership team and duties will include rouding on patients, resource nurse, audits, and service recovery when needed.
 
Location/Facility: Baylor Scott & White Medical Center at Centennial (Frisco)

Specialty/Department/Practice: New Family (Mother/Baby) 

Shift/Schedule: 36 hours/week Full Time 7pm to 7am

QUALIFICATIONS

- EDUCATION - Associate's degree required; Bachelor of Science degree preferred

- MAJOR - Nursing

- EXPERIENCE - 2+ years of RN experience in Mother/Baby (couplet care) or Postpartum required

                             5 years of RN experience preferred

                             1 - 2 years of Charge RN exeperience strongly preferred

- CERTIFICATION/LICENSE/REGISTRATION -
       Registered Nurse (RN) license required

      BLS and NRP certifications required within 30 days of hire or transfer
