Nemours is seeking a Wellness Manager - Delaware Valley (FULL-TIME), to join our team in Wilmington, Delaware.
As the birthplace of the Nemours healthcare system, the Nemours/Alfred I. duPont Hospital for Children in Wilmington, Del. honors our legacy of delivering exceptional care to the children of the Delaware Valley and beyond. Ranked among the nation’s best pediatric hospitals by U.S. News & World Report and honored with the ANCC’s Magnet Designation for excellence in nursing practice, we offer intensive and acute inpatient and outpatient services covering more than 30 pediatric specialties. In October, we will complete a multi-phase hospital expansion that will include new inpatient rooms, Pediatric Intensive Care Unit and Emergency Department. Additionally, Nemours duPont Pediatrics allows us to reach more children across the region through community-based physician services and collaborative partnerships with health and hospital systems.
â‹Nemours Health Care system is currently seeking a Wellness Manager based at our location in Wilmington, DE. This position will support our DE Valley location.
The Wellness Manager will play a key role in the enhancement of the culture of wellbeing at Nemours. The role is responsible for the development and management of an employee wellness program that serves more than 5,000 Associates in the Nemours Health System, Delaware Valley. Specific responsibilities include managing the delivery of the health management process, which includes health risk assessments, biometric screening, goal setting, skill building, action teams and support groups. The incumbent must be familiar with strategies for promoting a wellness program, including establishing relationships with leaders and Associates and leveraging those relationships to promote interest in the program, effectively utilizing wellness incentives, coordinating wellness events, preparing and presenting reports on wellness activities, and conducting presentations to various employee groups.
The Wellness Manager, Delaware Valley will work closely with the Wellness Manager, Florida Operations to develop and execute the wellness program. The position is a member of a multi-disciplinary team and interacts with other departments and staff members, including Employee Health, to build relationships while performing with a cross functional mindset. He/she is also responsible for daily operations, development of annual goals and budget, monitoring the activities of the wellness portal, and managing vendors, partnerships, and contractors. The position engages leaders to participate and support the YOURHealth program. He/she manages the operations of the on-site Fitness Centers in DE, and oversees the implementation of physical fitness, nutrition, stress management, and weight management programs. The position will report to the Chief Wellness Officer for Nemours.
Possesses strong expertise in developing a wellness program.
Has a history of success in actively engaging employees in wellness programs and initiatives.
Stays abreast of trends in the areas of emotional, mental, physical, financial, spiritual, and social wellness of employees.
Represents Nemours in the health and wellness community by presenting and attending professional meetings, conferences; participating in benchmarking efforts.
Demonstrates fiscal responsibility through effective budget management.
Cultivates a working knowledge of Nemours health benefits and promotes integration with health and wellness programs.
Bachelor’s Degree in a health field required.
WELCOA, Well coaches and/or Registered Dietitian preferred.
Minimum of 5 years relevant experience in managing wellness programs and initiatives with proven results in engaging employees in wellness programs.
Certification in nutrition, physical fitness/wellness or other aspects of wellness desired.
