Marshfield Medical Center, the Marshfield Clinic Health System flagship hospital, cares for patients from throughout central, northern and western Wisconsin. Marshfield Medical Center offers primary, secondary, tertiary and Level II Trauma Center hospital services provided by Marshfield Clinic specialists. The facility hosts nearly 40 specialties including cancer, heart and orthopedics care, as well as a 24-bed Children's Hospital equipped with the latest technology and highly-trained hospitalists and nurses providing nearly 30 pediatric specialty services, including: child abuse-neglect, gastroenterology, pediatric intensive care, neonatology, and surgery. Access to a Level II Trauma Center, ensures 24-hour availability of anesthesiologists, dedicated medical equipment, operating room facilities, physician specialists, surgeons, and trauma nurses.
The Arrhythmia Nurse is a registered nurse who utilizes the nursing process to assess, evaluate, plan, and deliver comprehensive care to patients with specific arrhythmias especially those requiring pacemakers and ICDs. The nurse functions independently as a physician extender in providing care to the pacemaker/ICD patient. The services provided include evaluation of pacemakers and ICDs, diagnosing malfunctions, program adjustments to optimize pacemaker/ICD performance, education of patients and family, and telephone triage of patients. The nurse interacts with clinic physicians, referral physicians, clinical personnel, and community agencies to provide optimal care to the patient and their family with arrhythmias.
The Registered Nurse functions as a vital member of the healthcare team who contributes to the success of Marshfield Clinic by demonstrating customer/patient focus, effective communication, professionalism and self-development, and teamwork. S/he utilizes the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate comprehensive care provided to selected patient populations and their families. This individual demonstrates excellent clinical, problem-solving, interpersonal, and leadership skills, and makes decisions consistent with Marshfield Clinic policies, department protocols/guidelines, and the Wisconsin Nurse Practice Act.
Work Shift: Mon-Fri; 8:00 am - 5:00 pm (Includes On Call Rotation and Out Reach in Stevens Point & WI Rapids)

Graduate of an accredited school of nursing
Two years nursing experience preferred
Wisconsin Registered Nurse License (unrestricted)
Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within one month of employment; at time of hire preferred
